Under the visionary leadership of Dr. M. Santhiramudu Garu, Santhiram Medical College & General Hospital has pledged to serve the society by providing quality primary healthcare to the needy. For over two decades, the hospital has been serving nearly 1500 villages across Nandyal and the surrounding Rayalaseema region and Prakasam Districts through periodic health checkups, preventive healthcare, and continuous health monitoring by qualified doctors, technicians, paramedical professionals, and nursing staff.

Spearheaded one of India's largest sustained rural healthcare outreach programmes through Santhiram Medical College and SanthiramSevaSamithi, conducting more than 20,520 free multi-speciality medical camps across the erstwhile united districts of Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur, Chittoor and Prakasam.

Through sustained healthcare interventions over the past 20 years, the hospital has significantly reduced medical emergencies. Regular door-to-door health surveys, including in tribal areas, are conducted to assess community health status, while medical camps provide diagnosis, treatment, medicines, and follow-up care for both common and complex health conditions.

The hospital offers free consultations to all patients and provides free transportation for over 500 patients daily from villages across the Nandyal Parliamentary Constituency through a fleet of 20 buses operating on 20 routes, ensuring access to healthcare for people in 300 villages.

More than six free medical camps are organized every day in different villages, offering consultations by specialists from multiple departments, essential investigations, and free medicines. This uninterrupted community outreach program has been successfully running for the past 20 years.

To bring advanced healthcare with global standards to rural communities, Dr. M. Santhiramudu established comprehensive super-specialty services, including General Medicine, Cardiology, CTVS, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Pediatrics, General Surgery, Urology, Psychiatry, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dental, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Pulmonology, Pediatric Surgery, Physiotherapy, Surgical Gastroenterology, Surgical Oncology, and more. Santhiram Hospital provides free meals to all inpatients and their attendants and has served more than 25 lakh patients with free food, making it one of the largest such initiatives in Andhra Pradesh.

The hospital has successfully performed over 2,00,000 cataract surgeries and thousands of corneal transplants, restoring vision and preventing blindness for countless patients. Through the "Know Your Child's Health" program, free health camps are conducted in schools to identify eye, ear, dental, and general health issues among children and provide appropriate treatment. Santhiram Hospital also conducts awareness and counseling programs through community meetings, posters, and hoardings to prevent child marriages, female foeticide, superstitious practices, and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS. Additionally, the hospital provides first aid services to remote villages and trains community volunteers in CPR and emergency healthcare.

Santhiram Matha Sishu Samrakshana Scheme – Guarding Mother and Child with Advanced Healthcare Under this flagship initiative, Santhiram Hospital, in association with Santhiram Seva Samithi, provides completely free maternal healthcare from conception to delivery. Services include free ultrasound scans, TIFFA scans, blood investigations, safe delivery, postnatal care, welcome kits for mother and baby, breastfeeding counseling, and vaccination guidance for children up to 10 years of age.

The hospital conducts free ECG camps daily to promote early detection and prevention of cardiac diseases. Patients requiring advanced cardiac care receive angiograms, angioplasty, and CABG procedures either free of cost or at subsidized rates under applicable government schemes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Santhiram Hospital became the first Level-1 COVID Care Centre in the united Kurnool District and successfully treated more than 15,000 COVID-19 patients across all three waves through the dedication of its medical team.

The hospital has screened over one lakh people through ECG and other cardiac investigations in villages and has successfully performed morethan 10,000 angiogram and angioplasty procedures under eligible healthcare schemes. Santhiram Hospital has successfully performed over 300 cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries, improving the lives of children born with these congenital conditions. .
